Porcelain Tiles

Vesta Is Your Choice For Porcelain Floor and Wall Tiles

Porcelain tile is a unique type of ceramic tile. Porcelain tile is made with a finer, more dense clay and minerals that are kiln‐fired at temperatures that can exceed 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. As a result, porcelain is both harder and denser than ceramic and other tile products. This increased strength also contributes to superior durability, scratch, water, and stain resistance.

Porcelain tile offers other advantages as well: it contains less clay and more feldspar (a mineral) than regular ceramic tile, it’s pressed at a higher pressure making it 30% harder than granite, and in a porcelain tile the colour is consistent through the entire tile. Porcelain tiles have a characteristic red body with a glaze applied to the surface. Due to its lower water absorption, porcelain tile stains less and is easier to clean than ceramic tile.
