We are very excited to introduce an innovative and exciting new product to the market.
Lapitec® is a technologically unique “full bodied” sintered stone slab.
You might be asking yourself what is sintered stone? Sintering is a thing? Why does this matter to me?
Sintering is the process of compacting and forming a solid mass of material by heat and/or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction. Sintering happens naturally in mineral deposits or as a manufacturing process used with metals, ceramics, plastics, and other materials. Only by obtaining the most highly refined natural constituents and by precisely controlling the physical and chemical environment of aggregation and crystallisation to an unparalleled degree, is Lapitec® created.
It features the superior mechanical and physical properties of porcelain, while maintaining the workability, colours and finishes of a natural stone. Lapitec® is ideal for outdoor installations as it stands up beautifully to frost, fire, and even ultra violet rays. These outdoor applications are endless and can include exterior counters, cladding, and flooring. The product is also nonporous, making it resistant to staining and bacteria. Every slab is resistant to acids, alkalis, deep abrasions, and even graffiti! Whether the application is indoors or outdoors, it’s an ideal choice for really anything you can think of. You read that right. In a nutshell – weather proof and essentially impervious to anything you can throw at it.
Lapitec® is available in large format slabs, with each color available in four distinct finishes from polished Lux to heavily textured Fossil. Produced in slabs measuring 3365 x 1500 mm and with calibrated thicknesses of 12, 20 or 30 mm, with 5,05 m2 per slab, Lapitec® is the biggest sintered stone available on the market.
Lastly…Lapitec® is produced with a fantastic sensitivity to the environment. It contains no resins or petroleum derivatives, and is inert.
